Janet Jackson has been ordered to slim down – by her record company.
The singer, whose weight has ballooned in the last six months, has reportedly been told by her label, Virgin Records, to shift the pounds by September or they won’t release her latest album.
An insider told America’s New York Post newspaper: "This new album is supposed to be pretty good, but Virgin feels it can’t market it without Janet being back in fighting form, so they have hired a personal trainer for her and put her on a diet. She has to lose at least 20 pounds."
After the infamous Super Bowl "nipplegate" incident, two years ago, Janet’s career went into free-fall and her last LP, ‘Damita Jo’, flopped.
